Too Much Distraction

April 26, 2008 · No Comments

So I have 200+ pages to read by…I don’t know, 2 weeks. To some, that’s easy. It could probably be achieved in two to three days of intense reading. Heck I could probably do that, except there’s two problems: there are too many distractions, and I’m lazy. There’s the TV, and drum practice, and the internet. Even right now, I could be reading. But three awesome shows just have to be on in a row. Metalocolpyse, The Venture Brothers, and Crayon Shin Chan. **** that [adult swim], having good shows on late at night. I can’t say the same about those *** **** superdeluxe.com commercials and that show with those two guys on a very low budget. Something like, Tom and Eric, Super show, great job. More to the point, if you haven’t watched any of the 3 shows I mentioned, you should they’re hilarious. Even if you don’t like metal music, it’s funny for everyone. I never like metal all that much, but I got their album now. Sweet.

As for being lazy, yeah. That’s hard to get out of. I should be doing homework every night, which turns into every other night, starting at 11 and going to 2.

Frisbee, it’s just a game?

April 25, 2008 · No Comments

To others, it is. Just a a way to have fun, get outside, and do some amazing stuff on the field. For me, it’s all about the catches. The dirtier and bloodier you are by that final point, the more fun you’ve had. Not too many people lay out, most just “slide.” How amateur. The proper dive consists of three parts: The lean, the reach, and the push. At least that’s how I do it. While running, one lets the top of their body lean forward. Then one stretches their catching hand out. Lastly, push off the ground with your feet, but don’t push off as if jumping up, use the ankle strength. As for Frisbee (always spelled with a capital “F”), there are some who take it seriously, even during recreational games. Don’t be offended, it’s just because they’re much more competitive. Don’t get me wrong, the competitive spirit makes for a fast pace, fun game. Just don’t let drops or wayward throws you or an other ruin the friendly game atmosphere. When you start always, enter with good spirits, and say “Good Luck, Have Fun.” That’s all.

Oh yeah. University of New Haven Frisbee Club is holding a Frisbee Tournament May 2. Contact me for info if you’re near by. (Just Google UNH).

Late Night Painting

April 25, 2008 · No Comments

So why am I blogging 12:31 EST on a Thursday night? That’s because it’s another Thursday night, painting for a class that meets once a week with a teacher that doesn’t really teach us how to be artists, but tell us how we’re doing everything wrong. What makes it worth while, you ask. 3 credits is one thing. But having only one class on a FRIDAY takes away all the fun. I guess the only reason I go there is to make quick, witty jokes about everyone’s works. Well, I guess I’ll go back to watching Seinfeld. That show always makes things better.

Living Off Campus: Pros & Cons

April 24, 2008 · No Comments

College is fun, when you get to live on campus. When you don’t, college life doesn’t really live up to the expectations you here of in high school. The friends, the parties, the fun. All lost because one has to commute. Then again, why pay another 10 thousand to live 15 minutes away. Hey, with that money I could buy a cheap, 11-year old car to get me to and back to the campus. And I get to work too! Isn’t that just great. For some, college is just a way to get away from their trapped life back home. With parents, responsibility, other things that suck. You can do what you want, when you want. Don’t want to go to class. Just sit in the quad all day. There’s a party tonight? I’m there. On campus, you make decisions, and you have to learn to life with the consequences. There are some pros to living at home. You get to sleep in your own bed, meals every day, get to keep your big wide screen hdtv in your room, don’t have to share anything, and best of all, a private bathroom. What’s better than that. Either way you take it. You go to college to either: A) have fun, or B)learn. Which is weird, because I am neither having fun or learning. Anyway, it’s cool to be able to walk around with a collegiate lanyard. And, of course, college chicks.
