Frisbee, it’s just a game?
April 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment
To others, it is. Just a a way to have fun, get outside, and do some amazing stuff on the field. For me, it’s all about the catches. The dirtier and bloodier you are by that final point, the more fun you’ve had. Not too many people lay out, most just “slide.” How amateur. The proper dive consists of three parts: The lean, the reach, and the push. At least that’s how I do it. While running, one lets the top of their body lean forward. Then one stretches their catching hand out. Lastly, push off the ground with your feet, but don’t push off as if jumping up, use the ankle strength. As for Frisbee (always spelled with a capital “F”), there are some who take it seriously, even during recreational games. Don’t be offended, it’s just because they’re much more competitive. Don’t get me wrong, the competitive spirit makes for a fast pace, fun game. Just don’t let drops or wayward throws you or an other ruin the friendly game atmosphere. When you start always, enter with good spirits, and say “Good Luck, Have Fun.” That’s all.
Oh yeah. University of New Haven Frisbee Club is holding a Frisbee Tournament May 2. Contact me for info if you’re near by. (Just Google UNH).

Late Night Painting
April 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment
So why am I blogging 12:31 EST on a Thursday night? That’s because it’s another Thursday night, painting for a class that meets once a week with a teacher that doesn’t really teach us how to be artists, but tell us how we’re doing everything wrong. What makes it worth while, you ask. 3 credits is one thing. But having only one class on a FRIDAY takes away all the fun. I guess the only reason I go there is to make quick, witty jokes about everyone’s works. Well, I guess I’ll go back to watching Seinfeld. That show always makes things better.
