The Landing Party

The Landing Party Consists of:

The Vocal Stylings of k3n,

The Guitar Riffs and Solos of +Em and j$h,

The Bass Grooves mE+,

and Beats and Rhythm of yours truly, eHs

Our names are spelled that way because it’s cool, duh. The name was decided after we were able to agree on a common interest, and that’s the pirate life. We all live 10 minutes away from the ocean, and one of us is an amateur/professional sailor (that would be K3N). Thus the Landing Party. If you don’t know what a landing party is, it’s a group of about 5 sailors/pirates that go to shore first to recon, bury treasure, or steal stuff. There’s 5 of us, so yeah, it works out well. We are a very recent band, starting this year. We have all been involved in music for years now, K3N and m_et singers (and both bass players), + M has played piano and had guitar lessons for 5 years now, Josh plays the trombone, bass, and guitar and is mostly self taught. As for me, I started on the piano young, then got my first drum set at like 12, but was uninterested at the time, so it was sold. Then I picked up the bass, and then the harmonica for a few months. I then proceeded to buy a electric violin just because I thought it was cool. It didn’t work out that well. On top of that, I bought a ukulele, never learned it, just looked nice. Then I got a guitar from my uncle, 1985 Gibson Sonex 180. I really enjoy playing the guitar.

Around the end of last year, we all got to talking about getting together and jamming. I had a rather cheap drum set, so I was candidate number one for drums, plus I was expert in Rock Band on Drums. Finally, we decided, “Hey, let’s start a band.” And here we are today. I’m saving up right now to get a new set. I just bought some sweet Zildjians (ZBT) and a Tama throne. Expect lots of pictures of us and our sets!
